ISLAMABAD — A distinguished Pakistani TV anchorperson recognized for publicly supporting former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested Tuesday on the outskirts of the capital, his colleagues stated.
It was unclear on what expenses police arrested Imran Riaz Khan, who just isn’t associated to the ex-premier.
The arrest of the TV journalist comes weeks after a court docket in Islamabad ordered police to not arrest him and several other different journalists after complaints have been lodged accusing them of inciting hatred towards the navy.
There was no speedy remark from the federal government.
Khan, the previous premier, took to Twitter to sentence the arrest of the anchorperson.
Khan was ousted as prime minister via a no-confidence vote within the parliament in April. He contends his elimination was a part of a U.S. plot, a cost Washington denies.
